Lovely. There is something to be said for always being in the NOW. A luxury, I suspect, at odds with the process of creating a fiction. Doggonit…

I just wanted to say that I'm your very heartfelt fan ♥️ I'm sorry if it was too much of me, I've just discovered your blog and for me it feels so exciting. I'll be returning to it, I think, to read back in time. If you don't mind 🙏

I also translated your Book of Rain novel into Russian, so i wanted to introduce myself properly. I loved it from the start, I think it's one of the most beautiful books I've ever read! I am also a fan of dreams. I do hope I did a good job with the translation ♥️🙏

Didn't find the possibility to write a personal message to you, so writing it here.

Hello Ksenia, I am so happy to hear from you. I don’t read or speak Russian so I can’t comment on the translation, but it sounds like the book meant a lot to you, and that means a lot to me. I haven’t received any copies of the Russian edition yet—I do hope to see it one day. I have loved Russian literature (in translation) ever since I was a teenager and read War & Peace for the first time—it literally expanded my mind and my heart. I went on to fall in love with Dostoevsky, Pushkin, Gogol, Bulgakov… and on and on. Thank you for all your work on my book, and for saying hello here on Substack. Best wishes, Tom

Thank you for the warm greeting, Tom! I'll pass to the editor your wish! I do hope it is possible to send you your book in paper! Due to this stupid events in a world gone mad the post works worse. But we'll see what we can do ♥️ I also hope the publisher will purchase your next book, about the dog/wolf, and I'll be able to translate it! It does feel very beautiful too. A bit like Orlando in a wolf-shape ☺️♥️
